Bedruthan Steps Hotel Wedding Styled Shoot
Perched high above the beach of Mawgan Porth, the Bedruthan Steps Hotel provides the perfect venue for a coastal wedding. I have been lucky to have photographed many weddings there. One of the things I love about a Bedruthan Steps Hotel wedding is the way the building works. It is an incredible space. Beautifully styled with a modern, mid century feel. The place has a wonderful ambience to it. Add into the fact that Mawgan Porth beach is just a short walk away, this has to be one of the best spots on the North Coast of Cornwall for a hotel style wedding. The hotel also has views across to another Mawgan Porth venue, the hidden cliff top gem that is Bre Pen Farm. I love the ethos behind the hotel and the fact that they are so incredibly child friendly. For this styled shoot we were looking to showcase what a Bedruthan Steps Hotel wedding could offer. This is a space that needs to be explored.
The Bedruthan Steps hotel wedding ceremony
Starting with the main function room. We photographed the ceremony area. This space provides a blank canvas. It just has so many opportunities. You just need your imagination. I love the way that the wedding flowers contrast with the minimalist interior. Our bride and groom looked perfect framed by the backdrop of white.
The Garden Room and the wedding breakfast
The Garden Room, is the perfect venue for a smaller style wedding or elopement. For this styled shoot it had been created into a space for an intimate wedding breakfast. The transition between the Garden Room and the Mediterranean garden outside is seamless. The panorama of the Atlantic ocean beyond fills the Garden Room. The light is just wonderful. Our bride and groom looked perfect sitting in this place. The table styling beautifully contrasted with the white walls of the garden room. For an intimate wedding or elopement this really is the perfect place (I’ve photographed Bedruthan Steps Hotel elopement wedding ceremonies in the garden room, it always looks wonderful).
The Mediterranean garden
We left the garden room, to head out into the Mediterranean garden. The secluded fire pit at the bottom of the garden provided the perfect intimate space. The light was just amazing, I love the way it was reflecting off the sea up to is. If you are having a Bedruthan Steps Hotel wedding then this location is well worth including as part of your day.
The Tranquility Suite – the perfect intimate elopement wedding space
As the light started to fade, we headed to our last location. The Tranquility Suite, provides a relaxed space that can be used for elopement weddings. Once again, it is a location where I have photographed couples getting married. I love the cork wall and the large fire place. If I had a room like this in my house, I would find it hard to leave. Our last photographs of the day were in this room. It felt like the right place to end the shoot.
The wedding team on the day
The team on the day consisted of hair and make up by Jo Dereza (Jo had also styled the suit for our groom). A wonderful wedding dress from Amanda K Bridal. Flowers were by the very lovely Jen from Twigs and Greens. Cake by the cake wizards at Peboryon. Shoot co-ordination was by Ashley Challinor.
